Daniela Denby-Ashe was born on August 9, 1978. Her father is a Poland native who moved to United Kingdom at age twelve. Her mother Jola, is of French descent but was born in the United Kingdom. Because of these influences, Daniela Denby-Ashe can speak English, Polish, and French with great fluency.
Daniela Denby-Ashe?s father had a last name that was hard to pronounce namely, Pszkit. When both her parents got married, each of the spouses reportedly looked up a phone directory to find an English-sounding name that is easy to pronounce. Hence, Denby-Ashe the surname was born.
As early as two and a half years of age, Daniela Denby-Ashe studied ballet. When she reached the age of 10 to 16, Daniella started to learn tap dancing in Ravenscourt Theatre School. She appeared in television advertisements as well as some television shows such as ?Absolutely Fabulous,? ?The Bill,? and ?Desmond?s.?
It was in the year 2004 when she landed the lead female role in the BBC drama entitled ?North and South.? She did not audition for the role of Margaret Hale originally. Rather, she wanted to portray Fanny Thornton. However, the producers found Daniella?s charm, energy and directness to be an advantage for the role. Furthermore, Daniella?s shared chemistry with co-star Richard Armitage was sufficient for the producers to make that final decision. Daniella is a rare talent in this day?s pool of Hollywood artists.
