Tom Cruise after having commenced as a teenage film star in 1981 came into real limelight during the late 80s and early 90s. In couple of films of late 80s, Tom Cruise established his image as a fighter pilot and secret agent in several crime thriller movies. ‘Top Gun’ (1986) became the highest grossing film (more than $350 million) of that year. During 1988, Tom Cruise starred in ‘The Color of Money’ along with Paul Newman. Later in the same year, Tom Cruise appeared in a lighthearted drama ‘Cocktail’. Although the film received mixed reviews, Tom Cruise received the first nomination for Razzie Awards in 1989.
